RECIPE: Apple Cider Blackberry Sangria

Sangria4

The cold weather calls for apple cider and red wine, so I decided to combine them both. Over the weekend I had some friends over and wanted to make something delicious but quick. Once you have all of the ingredients it takes minutes to make and then you just let it sit over night. This recipe is perfect for someone looking to throw a delicious drink together last minute. Recipe is below 🙂

Ingredients:

  • 1 orange, sliced
  • 1 3/4 apple cider. I used Zeigiers.
  • 2 honeycrisp apples, chopped into cubes
  • Juice from 1 lemon
  • 1/4 cup of Orange Juice
  • Club soda
  • 1 (750 ml) bottle of red wine. Preferably a light Spanish red wine. I used this one.
  • 1/2 cup of blackberry brandy. I used Leroux.
  • A few cinnamon sticks. I ended up using the whole bottle for garnish.

Directions:

  1. Dump the apple cubes, orange slices, and a few cinnamon sticks into a large pitcher. Then, add wine, apple cider, brandy, orange juice, and lemon juice into pitcher.
  2. Mix all ingredients together and let sit in the fridge for 6-24 hours.
  3. When preparing add some club soda for taste and cinnamon sticks for garnish. I love the effect the straws have on the finishing touches. I found some here. Enjoy!
