A Weekend on the Farm.

I’m starting to realize I have a thing for quirky, out of the ordinary, Airbnbs. See my trip to Venice here. Up next? A horse farm in upstate New York. Only an hour and a half from home, Campbell Hall is far enough to escape the noisy city but close enough for a quick weekend trip. We walk out of our Airbnb just steps away from horse stables, chickens and farm dogs running around the yard. We also ventured to Blooming Hill Farm for breakfast, where they host weddings, sell fresh produce and make yummy vegetarian dishes.

Airstream in Venice

What do you do when your coworker jokingly sends you a link to an Airstream? Do you book it? We did. My gfriend and I decided to extend a work trip a few days in Venice, California. We ended up booking an Airstream on Airbnb. It was quite an experience. The woman’s backyard had lemon and orange trees, pineapple plants and stringing lights. I’m finding that the things I would usually say no to, are turning out to be the most fun experiences of 2018. Here’s to the year of saying yes!

An LBI Getaway.

Growing up in a beach town, sometimes a vacation not too far from home with the sound of the waves and my feet dug in the sand, is exactly what is need to recharge. 4th of July was a week spent doing just that, surrounded by people I love and taking it all in. Sometimes a local vacation is the best vacation.

Florida Diaries.

Do you have a destination that feels like a second home? Mine is Florida. It’s one of the few places I can land in and feel 100% comfortable. I grew up taking family vacations in Florida often, and then as I grew older friends and family moved there. It’s a nice little 2 hour flight to a warmer, slower state. The views of the palms aren’t bad either. This trip we ventured to a little beach town called North Redington – between St. Petersburg and Clearwater Beach. A quick weekend getaway to Florida in the middle of the frigid temps at home was just what I needed.

Colorado Trip: traded skylines for mountain tops.

Sometimes, you don’t know you need an experience until you’re in the moment of it. When I found out we would be spending the majority of our Colorado trip in the mountains, I was skeptical. I used to go skiing, hiking and exploring a lot more when I was a kid. Now, I go maybe every 6 months, if that. This trip broke out a part of me that I haven’t really tapped into in a while.

We rented an Airbnb in Frasier, Colorado and traveled many winding, terrifying roads to get up there. I saw the Rocky Mountains and the Red Rocks for the first time, hiked, sat outside and watched shooting stars for hours. The only thing I could hear were birds chirping. No planes, honking horns or ambulance sirens to soothe me to sleep. It was exhilarating and relaxing all at the same time.

My Denver Diaries.

After our moment in the mountains, we made our way back down to Denver for a short trip before making our way back east. We stayed at the Halcyon Hotel, which we adored. Complimentary coffee/wine all day, a record player (records included) in the room, a rooftop pool, it was perfect. They also have Quality Italian Restaurant in their hotel and it was delicious. A good chunk of the group were vegans or pescatarians, so we opted for this delicious vegan spot for brunch one day, Watercourse Foods. We indulged in lavender mimosas and vegan brunch. While walking around downtown, we stopped at The Denver Central Market and Union Station.

What I loved most about Denver was the blend of nature and city. You’re moments away from some of the most beautiful mountains the world, everyone is riding their bikes and most of all people care about the environment. If it was near the ocean, I’d highly consider moving there. Have you been to Denver? Where are you favorite spots?

My Dreamy Birthday Weekend in Montauk

To celebrate my birthday this year, I wanted to do something different: a little weekend getaway, in a new town and a few feet from the beach. My boyfriend surprised me for a few nights at Hero Beach Club in Montauk New York. Just feet away from the beach, it actually reopened the day before we arrived there. The weather was perfect, days spent on the beach and nights eating and drinking our way through a new beach town. I love this blog post because the photos really do speak for themselves.

PHILLY: PART III

Third city guide in Philly? This time, it was for a special occasion. My friend, Nicole and I decided to do a little weekend getaway to celebrate our June birthdays. The highlight to the trip was staying at the beautiful The Ritz-Carlton, Philadelphia in the heart of Philadelphia. We mostly roamed around different neighborhoods, enjoying a brunch spot at Green Eggs Cafe and exploring vintage jewelry shops. We ended the weekend seeing The Chainsmokers live. Overall, it was a great girls weekend! xx

BOSTON.

I took my first trip to Boston this past weekend and I felt like I traveled back in time. The old feel of the buildings and the amount of history I was able to experience and learn about was pretty cool. I loved the neighborhood feel of Beacon Hill, the delicious cannoli’s from Mike’s Pastry Shop, and did anyone else get a Harry Potter vibe when they walked around Paul Revere’s House? I swear I teleported into Diagon Alley. Which I didn’t hate, one bit. We stayed at Revere Hotel Boston Common that had amazing balcony views of the city and I loved the hotel aesthetics. Overall it was so much fun checking off another city off of my bucket list. See below for some foodie recommendations during my stay! Have another one? Comment below.

  • Mike’s Pastry Shop for every type of cannoli you can imagine.
  • Mike & Patty’s for the most delicious grab & go breakfast sandwiches.
  • The Beehive had delicious brunch. The atmosphere was even more breathtaking. They had a jazz band that was playing downstairs and it was playing on a projector for the top area of the restaurant. They also had THE most chic and gold embellished bathroom I have ever seen, btw.

SAN DIEGO.

With the frigid weather on the east coast, I was up for a little change of scenery. It didn’t hurt that San Diego is one of the most laid back cities I’ve ever been to, and honestly, it was much needed. It was our first time out there, so expect a lot of touristy recommendations below.
